May-June plant sale in Llanfyllin

Raising funds for agro-forestry projects in Uganda

Our annual fundraising plant sale is back! Vegetable plants, flowers, annual bedding and perennial are available to buy in the forecourt of Llanfyllin Spar – all through May and June, all day, every day. The profits will be used for tree and bamboo planting projects at Ugandan schools and small farms.

Plant sale set up in front of Llanfyllin Spar

For the opening day on May 1st, we joined up with BRACE’s seed and seedling swap & sale in the Community Gardens and raised £180. It was a promising start, but we have been facing considerable challenges with the wild, windy weather and freezing nights. Hopefully, the conditions are continuously improving now, so that we can build on our experience from last year’s sale – which despite the difficult circumstances due to the pandemic proved to be a great success (we raised almost £2,700!).

The sale continues in front of the Llanfyllin Spar until the end of June. Our grateful thanks to Mark Prust for giving us this space.

The plants have been carefully grown by our chair and founder, Lorna Brown, as well as supporters. Donations of plants are welcome!
