Another first for us last year was Secret Santa at Leighton School. Last year the staff gave up their Christmas cards and gifts to each other and, instead, gave the money they saved to the children of the NOVC project. What a brilliant idea and wouldn’t it be wonderful if other schools and organisations did something similar? Thank you to everyone at Leighton.
Yet another first was a Duck Race, organised by member Richard Beaman and held at the home of Brian and Marion Jones in Llanrhaeadr. With our thanks to Richard, Brian and Marion, trustee Emyr Owen and members Judith Schofield, Lyn Evans and Mary Jones who turned out to help. An amazing £470 went into the coffers.
Spring Sale – a great turnout and, for once, good weather helped to raise £1885, including £90 from the sale of crafts made by the NOVC project children. The Grand Draw this year raised £835 and our thanks go to everyone who contributed to these two wonderful, stalwart fundraisers. A highly entertaining gig, organised by Cordelia Weedon and featuring the Rory Motion and Art Blank Combo raised £250. As always, we’ve had a steady stream of donations and collections from chapels and churches from all over the area, for which we are most grateful. As indeed we are to our many donors. regular and one-offs, throughout the year. When you read about our projects, you can see how much our Ugandan partners need our help and also what excellent use they are making of your generosity.
THANK YOU ONE AND ALL
